There is also one with double the voltage rating i.e. 24V.  As the need felt, today one can find batteries with ratings of 3V, 6V, 9V, and 18V. The voltage needed by the buyer may not provide a single battery with such input, in this case, the configuration made to gain the right voltage are series, parallel, or a hybrid of the two employed.

  • Capacity-
  • Battery load capacity is delivered in terms of ampere-hours. The less current will be used from a battery, the more time it will take to discharge; the opposite is also equally matter-of-fact.

  • Technology-
  • There is rechargeable versus non-rechargeable, liquid versus gel, lithium-ion technology, design of terminals, size and shape for various needs of users.

  • Purpose-
  • SLA batteries are used excessively in solar panels, automobiles, uninterrupted power supply, electronic devices, or in industries with big machines. The area of installation should be considered too.

  • Maintaining an SLA battery
  • Proper maintenance of the battery can overcome the only potential shortcoming of a sealed lead-acid battery is that due to the incapacity to maintain the battery, it may not serve at optimum levels as its flooded counterpart.

    Most of the battery health problems can be reduced by proper handling. Battery life can also be lengthened by this. To keep lead acid in functional condition, provide a fully saturated charge lasting 14 to 16 hours. If the charge cycle does not allow this, give the SLA battery a fully saturated charge once every few weeks. If possible, operate at a sensible temperature and evade deep discharges; charge as often as you can.
